Autumn Whiskey Sour

Shot through with apple brandy and apple cider, this cocktail may be the finest way to toast the brisk days of autumn.

Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

1½ ounces apple brandy

1 ounce rye whiskey

½ ounce lemon juice

½ ounce apple cider

1½ teaspoons granulated sugar

Ice

1 apple peel

Directions

In a cocktail shaker, combine the brandy, whiskey, lemon juice, cider, sugar and ice. Place one large ice cube into a cocktail glass. Shake and strain the cocktail over the ice cube and garnish with apple peel. Serve immediately.
